Finally!! A DVR service that people who use their RV like my husband and I do for the bulk of the year!! It just plugs into your box and the tv, you don't need an extra outlet; it's small and user friendly as well. I've been waiting for something like this for about five years! Cheers DISH!!

I concur with other review that $xl seems loftier just to type a couple of keys and activate the service. But its not that bad. We love being able to record & particularly pause. The only drawback is that yous have to watch the channel you lot are recording. You can ready it to record future airings, as long as you lot brand certain they exercise non overlap end time / start times. I set it to record movies after we go to bed and it work great. I figure we will tape a lot of shows and so when the atmospheric condition turn bad or your dont have reception because of copse.

I did not utilise the dish hard drive. i had a WD 3TB, 3.0 difficult rive sitting in a drawer and it hooked up to the Wally with no hassles and seems to piece of work not bad. (full disclosure the WD 3TB is $165 on amazon. I did non endeavour i of the less expensive 1TB 3.0 units. but I may order ane just to meet if it will work on our 2nd Wally that has its own dish. I will update if information technology works)

A bit pricy for a one TB drive, merely works fine. No seperate power supply if yous are wondering. Powered via the USB cord.

I gave the product a 3 star considering it does work... But, this 2.0 Hard Drive is the but one compatible with the Wally. Essentially, 1 has to buy information technology from dish outdoors because no one else sells them anymore. I bought a 3.0 from Staples and was assured 3.0 would work if a ii.0 was suggested. That is non the example. three.0 is non comparable with the Wally, I also checked with Best Buy and on line and could notice no other source for a 2.0 than dish outdoors.

Dish needs to upgrade their RV remote admission Wally for technology that allows a hard drive to exist purchased at electronic suppliers where the cost for twice the memory is less than for this out dated old technology.

When used with the Wally it functions as advertised with plenty of storage. The Hard Drive has one cablevision with a USB plug that incorporates a 12vdc power input that plugs into the Wally. No other ability supply is needed. The Wally is a single receiver so information technology's not the Hopper. Still, if you're busy vacationing in the great out doors just notwithstanding desire to record the news for later viewing, you lot can do it. If y'all're smarter than me & determine not to watch the news while on vacation, there'southward movies to tape for later. We couldn't be happier. And the best role, no additional monthly cost for the DVR selection. At that place was a $forty in one case fee, but well worth it for us.

I would yet buy only was disappointed that I could non record one bear witness and lookout man some other. You have to watch what your recording.
Only information technology does come in handy if your gone. You can record and watch afterwards.

Listen, I just plugged in the unit chosen Dish and since the software is already loaded in the Wally it began working immediately. Cypher could exist easier. And it works well. Just remember if you're leaving set the channel you lot want to record on the dish before you turn it off or it won't exist able to record your preset station. Love it!

This DVR upgrade is a nice addition to my hopper, traveling on the route for weeks at a fourth dimension this helps whenever I lose signal for any reason. One describe dorsum, which I remember it's due to having a hopper is that I can't watch one show and tape another then I ready it up to record over night or when I'chiliad not there. It records and movie is dandy, it was a definite plus to my ready.

I have been hesitant calculation / upgrading my Dish equipment because the receivers really don't last very long. Now that I buy the replacement plan I decided to add together a DVR and it is sweet. 390 hours of storage in a tiny parcel.

I called Dish was I plugged information technology in and they allow information technology self program and updated my records to make sure there were no issues. They waved the programing accuse so I was expert to go. Been recording movies to watch when weather condition atmospheric condition don't let good sat connection. I am quite pleased with this upgrade.

Bought this to record shows with Wally. Disappointments:
1. No manuals to be institute on how to use this DVR.
2. Only records 1 channel at a fourth dimension - Wally limitation.
3. Really wanted equipment that will tape multiple channels at the aforementioned time. Should take purchased a unlike receiver, but was not able to accurately make up one's mind what my receiver options were before I purchased.

We accept ordered two of these DVR'due south over the final couple of years. Nosotros like that they are small, but feel they are a little over priced. Nevertheless, that life!

We wanted to record tv while we were away from our rv and I establish this hard drive on dishformyrv and it was perfect for what I needed. Information technology was like shooting fish in a barrel to just to plug hdmi into receiver and call dish to activate and simply like that we had a dvr.

Added this to my 5th Cycle RV. Plugged it in and chosen the 800 number shown. Within ten minutes information technology was upwards and running. And I am no rocket scientist when it come to engineering science.
